For not so positive reasons, there is a
lot of talk about the South side of Chicago. Never mind the area
producing a US president, two NBA MVPs, and Offishall Time, who is
making his mark on the game. Before cranking out viral sensations, such
as “Stay Up” Ft Future and “Franklin,” Produced By K.E Onthetrack.
Offishall Time was like everyone else in the streets, looking for a way
out.
Luckily for Offishall Time, he found his way out through a legitimate hustle. Music proved to be his calling, when Offishall Time found himself being a good rapper and producer, attending Columbia College and taking Audio Engineering. It would be two years before Offishall Time left college to pursue music full time, under the moniker Youngg Offishall.
In 2007, Youngg Offishall released his first mixtape, Trappin & Rappin, Vol. 1. Bursting onto the scene, it was not long before Youngg Offishall found himself performing alongside many big names in the game, including Soulja Boy, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Nas, and Young Money’s tandem, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. During this period of time, Youngg Offishall watched as his popularity continued to grow.
By 2011, Youngg Offishall was a member of Soulja Boy’s SODMG. Linking with fellow SODMG member, Stunna Quad, Youngg Offishall launched the SODMG Goon$. The group did well, initially, as their first single, “Goon$,” which featured Soulja Boy, did well. However, with his star brightening, Youngg Offishall chose to leave the SODMG Goon$ after the success of the single.
In 2012, Youngg Offishall landed a deal with Island Def Jam and he is currently working on his new EP, #IOU. The project will be his first under Island Def Jam and marks a new beginning. Pursuing a fresh start, Youngg Offishall decided a new name would greatly benefit his cause, so he changed his name to Offishall Time.In 2013, Offishall Time plans to release his IOU EP.
